The Roberto Clemente Award is bestowed annually to the MLB player who best represents the game of Baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
Local fan favorite Nick Ahmed is nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award this year. In addition to his work on the baseball diamond and in the community, Nick and his family have participated in Scottsdale Cal Ripken over the past several seasons.

While Nick is most often recognized for his powerful defense, including two Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, his true impact is his family’s humble and generous commitment to a growing list of causes in Arizona and in communities across the country and world.
Nick and Amanda have impacted countless lives through serving at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, low-income schools, Operation Christmas Child, Compassion International Fill the Stadium and more. In addition, Nick recently founded 7 Pillar Health and Performance to educate and empower the next generation of athletes.
